on a planet revolving around
the sun in almost perfect symmetry.
We are blessed with technology
that would be indescribable
to our forefathers. We have the
wherewithal, the know-it-all,
to feed everybody, clothe everybody,
give every human on Earth a chance.
We dwell instead on petty things.
We kill each other."

This section will mostly be my opinions on stuff, for instance in the music section, you may find reviews, best 10
lists, anything that has to do with music. Likewise in the movies section, if you want to know what the worst movie of all time is then go there.
video games
Parents and Adults the world over have a thing about video games. Most of them bitch and moan about how video games are corrupting our children, turning them insane, and making our precious kids go out and shoot people. Any time there is a story reported about some violence by school kids, there is inevitably a follow up story somewhere about how this violence was caused by video games. If not that, then it was music.
First question to all of you bitch and moan parents. Where did precious johnny get the money to buy that damn video game console? Not to mention the games themselves. Hell I'm an adult and can't afford one of the damn things. The PS2 and Xbox are priced way out of my range, I'll stick to the PS1. Warning parents, if you hate em' don't buy em' for your youngster. Don't allow them in your home. Don't take up a crusade to ban all this stuff, then I can't play the games I want to allow in my home. It's already hard enough finding the games I want, especially if you live in a rural area and the nearest big city is hours away. I don't care if you don't like em', In a supposedly free country I should have the right to purchase them if I want. Unfortunately in a rural community, many people have to rely on Big Brother Wal-Mart for their music and video purchases, and he's already decided for us that we shouldn't be allowed to purchase such filth. So much for freedom.
Also on top of this there's some story about retailers refusing to carry some new game(which has an A rating for adults only) because you can choose to be a naked woman bmx rider. So showing up on these same stories is your typical "we need to ban this filth, and our poor children person". Look I'm 40 yrs. old, and I love to play video games, and it would be awesome if there were more adult oriented games that I would like to play. I don't know about the naked woman bike rider concept, I personally haven't seen many of those around, but hey, it might be fun.
I've listened to music and played many, many video games during my life. These things have never made me want to go out and maim, rape or kill anyone. The absolute whole idea behind this is absurd. Parents if you don't want your child playing these games, don't buy them for your precious darlings, and if your child is holding down a job and purchasing these games with his own money, I say then that child is responsible enough to handle it. And if you still don't like it, you're the parent, don't allow it in your house. As long as that child is under your roof he lives by your rules. Period. It's already got to the point where I can't buy or listen to the stuff I want because of certain Christian groups think it's bad for me. Americans are supposed to have all this freedom and the best country in the world, but in the last 20 years I have seen our freedoms gradually and slowly disappear. Open your eyes people. See next section for more.
Freedom It's a word we all love. Especially after the attacks on America. Patriotism reached levels not seen since WW II. How free are we though. Here's a quick example: Last night I watched the Osbournes on CTV (Canadian Network Television) and guess what? No Bleeps!! Every last expletive Ozzy and his brood uttered were broadcast and I loved it. Unfortunately for Americans you'll have to move to Canada if you ever want to see that uncensored version of the Osbournes. The FCC ( a government regulatory body of the US) has deemed that Americans cannot hear such language over the airwaves. Bear in mind that it's not your choice, the government chose for you. Don't you think that freedom would involve having a choice on whether you should hear those dirty words or not? Well, Americans do not have that choice. I suppose you can buy it on video when it comes out. Meanwhile I've already seen it.
Anyway, if you wish to learn more about what freedoms Americans are losing, you better check out my FREEDOMS page. Before it's too late.
On March 25, 1961, Elvis Presley gave a benefit performance in Hawaii, raising $64,696 or over 10% of the total cost to build the Arizona Memorial. Elvis had returned from duty in the Army the year before. Both Col. Tom Parker and Scotty Moore had served in the military in Hawaii. Scotty described the concert as having a "homecoming feel to it". The memorial was dedicated on Memorial Day 1962. To learn more about Elvis and his music, please visit http://www.elvis.com . Without the help of Elvis this memorial
to the men who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor would not have been built. Here it is years later and guess what? According to The Definitive Elvis, a group of senators from the US have decided that Elvis was a drug addict and that his name should not be associated with the USS Arizona memorial. So they have removed Elvis name from the plaque as a contributor and replaced it with their own names.
The gall of these people make me sick. Yes Elvis was addicted to prescription drugs as have many senators and senators wives, just check out the roll call of the Betty Ford Clinic. I am outraged! At a time when the government didn't see fit to fork out money to a worthwhile memorial Elvis stepped in and realized the dream of many veterans of this attack on the US. Now that same government is taking responsibility for this and has had Elvis name removed. Have they no shame. OK I'm done with this rant.
R. Buckminster Fuller-The Planet's Friendly Genius
In 1927, at the age of 32, Buckminster Fuller stood on the shores of Lake Michigan, prepared to throw himself into the freezing waters. His first child had died. He was bankrupt, discredited and jobless, and he had a wife and new-born daughter. On the verge of suicide, it suddenly struck him that his life belonged, not to himself, but to the universe. He chose at that moment to embark on what he called “an experiment to discover what the little, penniless, unknown individual might be able to do effectively on behalf of all humanity.” Over the next fifty-four years, he proved, time and again, that his most controversial ideas were practical and workable.
During the course of his remarkable experiment he:
•was awarded 25 U.S. patents•authored 28 books
•received 47 honorary doctorates in the arts, science, engineering and the humanities
•received dozens of major architectural and design awards including, among many others, the Gold Medal of the American Institute of Architects and the Gold Medal of the Royal Institute of British Architects
•created work which found itself into the permanent collections of museums around the world •circled the globe 57 times, reaching millions through his public lectures and interviews.
Buckminster Fuller is best known for the invention of the geodesic dome–the lightest, strongest, and most cost-effective structure ever devised. The geodesic dome is able to cover more space without internal supports than any other enclosure.
The Dymaxion map one of Bucky's inventions. A truly great man. We miss you Bucky!
